Rina Banerjee: Make Me a Summary of the World<\/h3>\n

A mid-career retrospective for artist Rina Banerjee, Make Me a Summary of the World<\/em> showcases 59 of Banerjee\u2019s diverse works. Famous for her large-scale sculptures and installations, Banerjee\u2019s work explores themes of splintered identity, tradition, and culture. Throughout the run of the exhibit, visitors enjoy free admission on Sundays to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pat Steir Silent Secret Waterfalls: The Barnes Series<\/h3>\n

Until November 17, 2019<\/h4>\n

On view at the Barnes Foundation, Pat Steir\u2019s new installation showcases 11 seven-foot-tall paintings presented on two walls of the Annenberg Court. A prominent figure of New York art scene in the 1970s, Steir\u2019s Waterfall series<\/a><\/em> explores the lines between intuition and chance.<\/p>\n

Cecilia Vicu\u00f1a: About to Happen<\/h3>\n

February 1 \u2013 March 31, 2019<\/h4>\n

The first major solo exhibition of Cecilia Vicu\u00f1a, About to Happen<\/a><\/em> is a multidisciplinary presentation that explores her range of works including everything from sculpture and video to text and performance. On display at the Institute of Contemporary Art, the focus of the exhibit is on dematerialization as an artistic response to radical climate change.<\/p>\n

From Today, Painting is Dead: Early Photography in Britain and France<\/h3>\n

February 24 \u2013 May 12, 2019<\/h4>\n

The second photography exhibition on view at the Barnes Foundation, From Today, Painting is Dead<\/a><\/em>, showcases nearly 250 photographs in Britain and France from the 1840s to 1880s. The exhibit opens on February 24 and will explore a unique period of the early history of photography.<\/p>\n
