Onion Tarte Tatin with Apple and Mustard by Lacroix at The Rittenhouse

A Foodie Destination in Philadelphia: The Rittenhouse

Many hotels provide onsite dining, but the collection of restaurants and bars at The Rittenhouse is one of a kind. In the heart of Philadelphia, the teams here have made this luxury property a culinary destination and foodie haven.

From award-winning fine dining and best-in-class cocktails to high-end tea and Italian favorites — here are the establishments that make The Rittenhouse a foodie’s dream.

Lacroix

Lacroix is The Rittenhouse’s most well-known onsite restaurant and it features a stunning dining room overlooking Rittenhouse Square. This AAA Four Diamond Award restaurant is also known for its upscale seasonal cuisine. Lacroix’s menu is composed of the region’s freshest local ingredients, award-winning wines, and one of the best brunches in Philadelphia.

For the first time since early 2020, Philadelphia’s favorite brunch is back and better than ever. Choose from an extravagant raw bar, hors d’oeuvres, composed salads, desserts, pastries, and more. Enjoy made-to-order entrees, such as lobster thermidor or ratatouille, served tableside with chef-selected hot and cold small plates.

Chef’s Table

If the mastery at Lacroix is something you love, then we recommend treating yourself to the ultimate Philadelphia foodie experience: Chef’s Table. Designed for up to six guests, this tasting menu provides front-row seats to a lively culinary performance. Savor multiple courses prepared by the team’s executive chefs right in front of your eyes. Add to the luxury and flavor of the evening with a special wine pairing by our expert sommelier.

Scarpetta

As the day moves onward, you can find another option for a fantastic dinner at Scarpetta. The name comes from the Italian phrase “fare la scarpetta,” which describes using a boot-shaped piece of bread to soak up the leftover sauce.

The dishes here are phenomenal, standouts including the short rib risotto with farro, seasonal vegetables, and grana padano, and the dry aged duck breast with plum mostarda. If you’re craving pasta, try the corn gnocchi with jumbo lump crab, or one of the many other upscale options.

Mary Cassatt Tea Room

For a light snack and soothing pick-me-up, stop by the Mary Cassatt Tea Room. Tea time at The Rittenhouse hotel occurs between noon and 3 pm Thursday-Sunday. A stunning and classic space, the tea room offers an elegant tradition to guests. Reserve one of the signature tea packages, featuring a selection of scones, petit desserts, mignardises, canapés, and sandwiches.

Library Bar

And if you thought that the above establishments were enough for one hotel, then you thought wrong. Library Bar is our onsite cocktail bar serving high-end spirits, craft beers, and delicious wines. Among its favorite signature cocktails, Sakura Falls is a popular choice that includes Roku Japanese Gin, Italicus Bergamot Liqueur, and Thai ginger. Another standout is Loch Ness, which features Maker’s Mark ‘The Rittenhouse’ Private Select, Glenmorangie 10yr. Scotch, Cherry Heering, and Sweet Vermouth.
