The Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival in Philadelphia celebrates the special relationship between Philadelphia, and the people of Japan. The Japanese government gifted the city 1,600 cherry trees in 1926, and the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia added an additional 1,000 trees between 1994 – 2004. Every spring, the season is signified by a superbloom of fragrance and color that brings a brilliant life to the city.
